The place where high strangeness happens
ABout OUr Live Radio Hosts
Matt Cook hails from Bristol, United Kingdom and has been interested in Forteana since his early childhood, long before he knew the term. His parents encouraged his love of everything concerning high strangeness and it has morphed into a life long passion for knowledge. You can pick Mr. Cooks brain on just about anything Forteana, but in particular he focuses on poltergeist research, ancient hill forts, ancient alternative history and areas of high strangeness.
Matt has an amazing collection of books, new and antique on the Fortean subject and is constantly adding to his library of strangeness. Not to mention his vast assemblage of Fortean Times Magazines (the inspiration for the Curious Fortean Odyssey). The smell of antiquated books is akin to coffee in the morning for this Fortean - don't worry we are not trying to replace your coffee. Drink away!
In early 2015 Matt Cook decided to start a little Facebook group called The Curious Fortean, which included an Ezine for a short run. It has been continuously successful in engaging conversation. Out of this grew Curious Fortean Radio, which is a throw back to Matt's passion for CB radio in his youth and his skill as a professional camera man filming documentaries, events and weddings under his productions company, Wild Rose Media.

Melissa Martell comes to us from the west coast of Canada on Vancouver Island. Her interest in Forteana is inherited from generations of family folklore, psychics, mystics and paranormal encounters. As a child Melissa lived in a haunted house on the east coast of Canada and that experience peeked her curiosity in the bizarre, even then. She also writes as The Scarlet Woman on The Curious Fortean's Blog website, where her interests and the people she meets play a big part in what she reports on.
Melissa has a vast interest in things of high strangeness, including poltergeists, sleep paralysis, shadow people, the occult, magic, witchcraft and folklore. She also has a keen interest in history, art, design and physical fitness. When Melissa isn't involved in Forteana and folklore, she spends her days as a graphic designer and serves as The Curious Forteans in house designer as well as other businesses, including The Folklore Podcast. You can visit her personal website at MDM Creative.
Fortean researcher and author of Mystery Animals of Pennsylvania and the forthcoming The Sable Terror. I'm interested in not just the Fortean and unexplained itself, but in crime, especially with an odd bent, episodes of mass hysteria, and peculiar events in history. I try to be skeptical in nature and generally try to present the facts of a case while trying to leave my personal feelings on it out of it.
Andrew has joined onto the team of The Curious Fortean not only on the radio show, but as a staff writer of our blog website. Go to our Blog site to read some of Andrew's amazing articles.
